Atrocities in our name is not making us safer!!!

When Jill Carroll was released recently by her captors, the Revenge Brigade, in Iraq, I was very surprised (and pleased) that Jill was not tortured, was well cared for, and was treated like a human being. But, didn't it surprise you that a group of men calling themselves the Revenge Brigade would treat her so good? You would expect them to be doing worse than what Americans have done with Iraqis and other Arab prisoners in our custody, but it didn't happen. I got to thinking that Americans during a time of war were once like that too. Even though we labeled them the enemy in our possession, we had the Geneva Convention as our "Bible" and would abide by it. Well guess what? What is being done in OUR NAME now is atrocious. Josh Key is US soldier now living in exile in Canada because he faces being courtmartialed by our military BECAUSE HE IS SPEAKING OUT AGAINST THE ATROCITIES OF WHAT OUR SOLDIERS ARE--really--DOING IN IRAQ. The article is linked above. After reading the sentence that talks about our soldiers kicking the head of an Iraqi man like a football, I bet you will agree with me that OUR COUNTRY IS NO BETTER THAN THE TERRORISTS! I cannot believe that this is going on in our name and that NO ONE IN THE WHITE HOUSE OR THE PENTAGON SEES WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH THIS! Remember the photos from Vietnam that showed piles of dead women and children (some were raped and bleeding in the crotch....could have been shot in that area too...who knows) that our soldiers murdered after they burnt and pillaged their village? Shameful. It was shameful then and it is still shameful now that our current soldiers are having a free for all while their Commanders just sit back and count their stolen loot! Spit. Spit. Spit.
