CIA employee fired for leaking to the press
A CIA officer has been fired for leaking information to the media that exposed our secret (torture) prisons around the globe and exposed Bush's (illegal) surveillance program (see "Bill Bennett" post below). He failed a polygraph test when questioned about this. Okay. I'm angry that this man was fired because he should receive a medal (the Washington Post did earn a Pulitzer for exposing the prisons/surveillance program) for crying out loud! Americans need to know what is being done in our name whether it's here on our soil or across the planet. I've been saying for some time now that the CIA and the FBI should start turning on the Admin because of all their illegal activity...and it looks they have. Let's hope it continues. The bottom line is that the Bush Administration doesn't want their criminal activity to be known, so they on the one hand, will out a CIA operative in retaliation for exposing THEIR lies and distortions, but then on the other hand, they will fire a CIA officer for exposing their sinister schemes! Incredible. If we are not living in a dictatorship right now, then I have no idea what a democracy truly is. Americans deserve transparency and if we can't have that during a time of war because we are afraid that six guys in a cave with laptops will topple us and will hurt our security, then I'm thinking maybe we aren't as powerful as we think we are! We are a superpower for God's sake. Americans need to know. Remember the death squads in South America under Reagan? Well, that's the sort of crap that does go on with criminal Administrations and we, as Americans, need to know it's being done and we have a right to stop it! Otherwise, WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE TARGET OF THE TERRORISTS. This is exactly why the terrorists hate us, because we do secretive operations, people die or people are tortured by American hands, and this fuels the hatred towards us!! Have we had enough of the Bush warpigs yet? I have.
