General Michael Hayden: spying to "connect the dots"
General Michael Hayden's nomination hearing will begin today on Capital Hill and I'm leary about it. He won't tell us anything new and will use Orwellian words to deny that his 'terrorist surveillance program' is illegal. Hayden has said that the government is spying to 'connect the dots', which sounds good and wonderful, but let's not forget that this is the same person, who heard the words 'Tomorrow is zero hour' and '...the match begins tomorrow' being said between TWO KNOWN TERRORISTS (who ended up being two of the hijackers on 9/11), the day before 9/11/01 and didn't interpret what was being said until 9/12/01. So, with all the listening in the world and with all the gathering of our phone calls (to create the largest database on the planet and in the history of it too)........it won't matter in the end. They won't be able to stop anyone who wants to attack us even if the enemy lays it out while on the phone. Because even if they hear key words being said on our telephone lines, it could take days, weeks, or months to figure out what is the intention of the callers is.......and by that time it could be too late. Like I've said before, the job of the CIA is to monitor activity outside the United States so I don't understand why if the CIA knows of KNOWN AL-QAIDA SUSPECTS USING THE PHONE (Bush is always touting that they are listening to al-Qaida! Why not round them up if they know they are using the phone! Jees), why they don't start over there to listen in! Why do they have to round up all calls made in our country since 9/11/01? I think it's because our government is incompetent. They're backtracking. They have no idea what they're doing (they've fired everyone who doesn't agree with their sinister agenda and are left with 'yes' people) and even if they hear the words, "death to America", "bomb", or "big wedding/big match", they won't understand it because of the lack of exact information, so in the end........we won't be any safer than we were on September 10, 2001. The reason why Bush's telephone surveillance program is so secretive is because they are using it to not listen in to terrorists....they are using it to listen in to political enemies and to anyone who doesn't agree with their ideologies. That is illegal on it's head, so today's hearing of Hayden won't get to the bottom of it. The program is so secret that Hayden will likely say that to to avoid having to answer anything about it! Hayden, Gonzales, and Bush have a whacked sense of what the 4th Admendment of the Constitution states. They are rewriting everything and Bush is giving himself permission to deny it's existance by using signing-statements. These guys are committing treason and are traitors to the very essense of our democracy!!! I despise them one and all!
