Oh how the 'truthiness' hurts the Bush Warpigs!
Two evenings after Steve Colbert of Comedy Central gave a scathing 'comedic' routine at the White House Corresponsdence Dinner, where he picked off the legs and arms off all that were there in attendance, John Stewart of the Daily Show (Colbert's show is a spawn of Stewart's show) talked briefly for a moment to Colbert before Colbert's show was to start. John made the comment to him that he looked different and Colbert sarcastically said back that he had lost some weight, where in turn, Stewart jested, "did you lose weight from having to run from Washington?". I howled! I thought that was perfect, because there was Steve Colbert....the 'Hero of America' laughing at himself along with John Stewart knowing full well he had two days earlier.....given George W. Bush and his Warpig Media the finger in a public forum! Just like Steve Colbert announced on his show on Monday that he had the most wonderful weekend of his life, I have to agree. He make my weekend and he made my life. Colbert reminded me that when speaking truth to power, your voice can crack (his didn't) or you can just plow forward with your truth and say it strong and loudly! Thank you Steve for the lesson that peace does indeed take courage! Michael Scherer of Salon.com has written a wonderful piece on Colbert's performance on Saturday evening and he explains how irony is deadly to those that just don't get it.
