Why is the 'liberal media' reporting on the Kennedy crash?

Patrick Kennedy, who is the House Representative for the state of Rhode Island and who is also the son of Ted Kennedy, Senator from Massachusetts, crashed his car @ 3am on Thursday morning not far from the House. Because he's a Kennedy, the 'liberal media' is reporting more on this crash rather than the Watergate-Hookergate scandal (see post below)! Now why is that? Why is the 'liberal media' reporting more on the Kennedy crash rather than all of the corruption coming out of Washington from the republican side of the isle every day practically? Huh? Well, I think the 'liberal media' is wanting something (anything!) to divert the nation's attention away from all that neocon corruption and Kennedy is the answer.
Here's what I hope: I hope Kennedy gets off scott-free and after it is over, I hope he holds a press conference and tells the American people what really happened: that he was high on coke, crack, anti-depressants, and on most barbituates from A-Z and drunker than his father that night, that he tried to run over the White House Security officer on purpose and is upset that he missed him, and that while he was driving like a drunken madman he was hanging out his window yelling, "Bush is a scum! Warpigs suck!". I hope he does that because the Bush Warpigs have gotten away with so much criminal activity, corruption, and have made it clear to the American people that they hate us, that it only makes sense that A DEMOCRAT GETS THE CHANCE TO BEAT THE SYSTEM WHILE GIVING THE FINGER TO IT. Heil Patrick!
And.....good for him for admitting that he has addictions and for telling the officer that he wasn't drinking when he really had had a few! Hey, I don't know anyone who gets pulled over who says, "Yeah, I'm smashed. Arrest me." Never happens and it never will.
I hope Patrick gets the help he needs and comes back ready to go to fight for the people of his state. The Kennedy family, even though they've had quite a past, has always used their wealth and power to do good for the American people and abroad. The Peace Corps and the Special Olympics are two that come to mind.
