Here's why we are not safe under the Bush Regime...
....apparently workers at Homeland Security are leaving their jobs and are wanting to work for private security firms! Well, of course they are. Bush has created more greed in our nation than ever before. I posted earlier about Blackwater Security, which is a private firm doing security in Iraq and Afghanistan (and as my friend Bill in Georgia pointed out in response to that article to me via email that these guys are also providing some security in New Orleans!), and it is companies like this that our Homeland Security employees are flocking to. Since we now know that there are many vacancies at HS, does this mean if we are attacked we will have the same response (but worse) like in the aftermath of Katrina? No help will come? We're on our own to figure out what to do if we have radiation poisoning? I think so. Let's hope Michael Chertoff is hiring replacements. Bah hahahahaha...oh Jesus, I crack myself up. Of course he isn't spending hours at the office trying to get replacements. Silly me. But we have FEMA to help us! Oh, nevermind. Greed is a monster and it is affecting our country greatly. Hell, if Bush hadn't started a fake war in Iraq, what would Halliburton be doing? Or Kellogg, Brown, & Root? They sure as hell wouldn't be making (er...I mean stealing) billions from our government right now; that's for sure! It's greed that is making our country weak. It's greed that is depleting it. It's greed that is breaking it. I'm tired of it. I want to go home...back to my country I once knew where the welfare of Americans was more important than how money is to be made on the backs of us. This kind of greed has probably been happening for decades, but the fact that it is so obvious and blatant is disturbing to me! Make it stop.

I agree (for once) that greed is a major part of our country's problems....but greed is as much a motive behind the abortion industry as it is behind the oil industry.
As for Haliburton, well, all throughout the 1990's under Clinton, they had the contract to supply our troops in Kuwait, so if the Democrats had had their wish and gotten 500,000 troops stationed in Kuwait semi-permanently ("to keep Saddam in a box") guess which company would have kept the contract?

I wonder though whether you think FEMA was ever designed to be not only the "first responder" but also the "only responder" to any disaster?
Let's clear off one point first: Brown was an idiot - and few Conservatives LOVE the idea of FEMA or DHS to begin with. OUR idea was that locals and states ought to be the ones EMPOWERED to handle their own problems since they're more likely to spend money wisely (little thing called 'personal life is at stake interest).
So I'm glad Brown is gone and FEMA and DHS are being scruitinized. However, we have to be FAIR.
Democrats suddenly changed FEMA's job description after Katrina and then retro actively applied this new standard on how the agency 'handled Katrina' as though there was no city or state government involved - and as if American citizens are completely passive bumps on a log.
Democrats - have ruled New Orleans for, oh, 40 years and the party has controlled the state of Louisiana for, oh, forever - so you'd think that if DEMOCRATS are the nicest, fairest, smartest, gosh honest most fantastic people under the sun, they'd have had A PLAN and the means to carry it out. But instead, they immediately put all blame and responsibility for disaster relief and clean up on FEMA and Bush.
They HAD a plan for what to do in case of a major hurricane....but the city and state politicos (democrats) didn't follow it. That's why 300 city school buses sat empty and underwater a mile from the Dome.
And the people - you know, the MAJORITY who ran the show in New Orleans also didn't spend much attention or money at all over the decades preparing THEMSELVES for what to do when the INEVITABLE hurricane came knocking.
Everyone, citizens, mayor, governor all sat around waiting for FEMA to magically show up and instantly save the day.

You see a pre-conceived conspiracy behind everything Bush does and every bad thing that happens anywhere on earth is caused directly by him and Rove who planned it out ahead of time.... conversely any good news also is thought to be their doing as if they were superhuman gods.... and as if no one else in the world were capable of independent action for good or for bad. Thats just plain nuts.

1994-5 Haiti implodes into civil war, thousands die, Clinton slaps an ECONOMIC embargo on the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere....
Rwanda: GENOCIDE 800,000 people killed while Clinton does NOTHING and Gen.Koffi Annan, then in charge of 5,000 UN peacekeepers in Kigali not only does nothing, he lies about the situation and pulls them out!
Balkans: over 1 million people displaced, tens of thousands are killed, UN peacekeepers don't "keep" the peace at all.
Al Qaeda is born and grows and attacks the US repeatedly...
North Korea gets the atom bomb while Clinton gets a piece of paper promise that they won't do so!
