Bush says he's keeping us safe...
...and he says that, "we're fighting the terrorists over there, so we don't have to fight them over here!". Okay, then please explain, Mr. Bush, why 3 men in Texas have been arrested for trying to buy 80 cell phones at the local Wal-Mart and when their property was searched it was found that they had a total of 1,000 cell phones and lots of cash in their possession? Huh? Are these homegrown terrorists buying these phones to detonate bombs in our country because you've made the whole world happy with us or are these young men just lovers of cellphones? Good grief. I bet he would say the latter because he's a man who can't admit when he's wrong! This is how our nation will be protected: observant Americans who suspect weird behavior in individuals. Invading, occupying, and killing innocent people of sovereign nations who had nothing to do with 9/11/01 and who couldn't hurt our country even if they wanted to is not the way to combat the terrorists! Like John Kerry said many times when he was campaigning for the presidency in 2004, our nation should be treating terrorism here as a nuisance, meaning, we should set up stings to dangle the 'carrot' as bait for the terrorists to fall into the trap (and in the case above.....a cashier questioning the activity of a few customers who were purchasing 80 cell phones who wanted them rung up 3 at a time!). That's how we'll succeed in keeping our nation safe. Strengthening our borders, coastlines, transportation sector and skies would be a good start too. Bush has bashed the bee's nest in the Middle East with a baseball bat, and because of that, we are definately not safe. Because he's not protecting us, Americans, as usual, need to remain observant of their surroundings.
