Can you imagine...
...if John Lennon were alive today? What do you think he would be saying about the war in Iraq and the US backed aggression in connection with Israel? Of course, I would imagine that he would be doing what the rest of us are doing and who think that war is never the answer and it always ends up with dead people on both sides with no clear winner! He would be protesting, blogging, sending money to different campaigns, signing petitions, and who knows, he might have taken his clothes off during one of Bush's State of the Union speeches with words written on his chest in black magic marker that read, "KILLING IS NOT BRINGING PEACE TO ANYONE!". I can only dream that John Lennon would have done that. His song "Imagine" makes me tear up everytime I hear it. Let's revel in his song's beauty again....here it is:

and looking at the globe

no protector of the poor

who will save humanity

No, I'm only on the side that HALF of Americans will blame for all their problems.
Liberals love to talk about "the people" as though "the people" were 100% democrats and republicans somehow non-citizens. But WE make up at least 51% of this country too.
But hey, keep believing in Lennon's "make believe" BS about a world without religion, without nations, without wars.... not gonna happen - not if you're in charge, not if we're in charge. Human nature is what it's always been, and it's always included vices which include pride, anger, laziness and lust.
You can make believe that your generation or ideology or race 'is different' but it won't change a thing; you are human and as such, you are just as prone to those foibles as anyone else. More so the more you deny being fallible.

KayInMaine, OT, but I am glad your friends have moved to Austin. Yes, it is a liberal oasis in this Repuke sahara. You should come visit them sometime and while you're at it, take a tour of the Hill Country. It's fab here.
Isn't it interesting that Bush Sr.'s son was friends with the family of Ron Reagan's killer and also when John Lennon was murdered it was found that Neil/Marvin (one of them....they're both criminals so pick one!) had a dinner date with the brother of the guy who killed Lennon!
