Castro is either ill or dead....
....but will Bush make him and the country more sick? Bush and his Cartel have a chance now to make peace with the countrymen and women of Cuba and I have my fingers crossed. A chance for a democracy is exactly what the Cubans need right now....because they deserve it. For almost 50 years our country has treated the little island of Cuba as a threat, and of course, fifty years ago our stand off with Russia was real, so it wasn't surprising that we did that. Today is a different world, however. I would love nothing more than for America to lift the embargos against Cuba to start the flow of goods. I want to see a rich Cuba and the chance for Cuban-Americans to be able to freely travel back and forth without dying on the high seas. I have my fears, however. My fear is that Bush will screw everything up! We've seen him 'spread democracy' in Iraq. Even Vladimir Putin of Russia wouldn't take up the offer to have an "Iraqi democracy" for his country when Bush suggested it! Bush is a failure at democracy. He's a failure on all fronts, but he has a chance now to make peace in Cuba and he has a whole country who are willing to be on his side in the sake of democracy. (I'm sure there are a few diehard Castro supporters, but isn't that always the case?) For now, Castro's brother is in charge. Some say this is a good thing....others are saying it is not. Whichever it is, Bush needs to realize that Cuba is going to be fragile in the beginning. He must be patient and he must not send in our troops to fix it! So, let's hope Bush makes all the right moves.

would somebody please explain to me why there is a embargo against cuba because of being a communist country and yet we import damn near everything from china?
Well Bill, who the heck knows why! It's a very good question however. Had China been the Communist country years ago pointing nukes at us, I'm sure we would be doing business with Cuba instead! I don't know the answer. All I do know is if Bush decides he's going to be the "Emporer of Democracy" for Cuba, I am going to be very worried for the Cuban people. I'm going to cringe.
