Remember when Bush said he wouldn't participate in nation building in 2000?
Wow! How things have changed! Yup, he's currently trying to build a new nation in Iraq (unfortunately it's not going too well because he's allowed the Iranians take control of the nation and it now appears to hate America as much as Saddam did), and he is currently using Israel as a pawn to demolish that part of the Middle East so as to provoke an attack.....which will give him a few more countries to nation build! Of course, now Fidel Castro is pretty close to the end of his life and power has currently been given to his brother, but that 's not enough for the Pigs in our White House. They want to spread "their democracy" onto Cuba now and have come up with their own plan. The scary part? Bush and Condi hand picked the panel to oversee this new plan themselves! Oh boy. You know what that means? Civil War coming to Cuba! From the article above, here's one thing the Dastardly Duo is planning on doing to spread democracy:
Isn't that great? Cleaning up the streets by assisting the garbage trucks is going to make all the difference and freedom will ring! Apparently, all the pee-on jobs go to our soldiers, which is not surprising because all wars are started by wealthy men who are not willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done themselves. We have a whole White House full of warmongering chickenhawks too. Aren't our soldiers lucky?
As the panel sees it, the administration should "assist with garbage trucks" to
ensure proper trash collection and disposal and water trucks to help thirsty
communities. The aid program also should provide "soap,
disinfectant, and cleaning materials to vulnerable groups."

Poor soldiers. How utterly used and abused they must feel by this administration. I remember Bush vehemently denying he would ever engage in "nation building," yet that is EXACTLY what he is attempting to do. Disgusting.
Kay Georgie said he was not into nation building...and he was right for once...
However nation destruction...well that is an entirely different matter, that he obviously is INTO

LOL Clif! Exactly right! And that proves what we've all been saying for years now....whatever George Bush says outloud the opposite happens!
And Hill, it is so tragic that our soldiers are used by these guys to do their dirty work. Have you ever read the words of General Smedly Butler from the WWII era? He said (I'm paraphrasing here) war is a rackett started by wealthy men who use our soldiers as pawns to complete their own evil agenda. The agenda is always to make loads of money on the backs of our soldiers. Boy, was he right about that!!!!!!!!!

So which is it? Nation builing is good when Clinton does it, but bad when Bush does it? Liberals LOVED "nation building" when it was the UN/Clinton doing it in the Balkans (strange that we haven't heard much about that unending occupation since 1998 isn't it?)
But you're right, in 2000, Bush was against having US troops deployed by the UN for 'nation-building' in places like the Balkans. He entered the presidency with a generous peace offering to the world - "we'll be less active abroad if others don't mess with us" and at home - putting Teddy Kennedy in charge of the "No Child Left behind" legislation, etc.
But two things changed all this; 9/11 and the Democrats back-stabbing on domestic issues; no sooner did the ink dry on NCLB, when Kennedy complained that "bush isn't spending enough money on education" even though He, Teddy, was the one who wrote the legislation and Bush never vetoed any spending bill!
So Bush is a big meanie who won't change...except when he does! He changed his tune after 9/11 and the mid-terms of 2002.
He's a big meanie who "only uses the military and war and not diplomacy"....except when he DOES, such as with North Korea and Iran! We didn't go to war with Libya, yet lo and behold they gave up their nuclear arms program that the CIA didn't even know about! All thanks to diplomacy.
You can hate him for alot of things but be honest enough to recognize the time line of events and the fact that intentions change when circumstances change.
FDR promised in 1940 to keep us out of European wars....only to declare war on Germany in 1941. Did he lie or did that great democrat simply change with circumstances?
