Bush said he'll close down the CIA interrogation program...

...if the Senate doesn't allow them to continue the torture, but how will Americans know if it has been shut down when the time comes? Because he said so? I don't think so!!!
This is the one thing that bothers me about the CIA. It's a secret agency. Americans don't know how much money they receive from us every budget year and we have no idea what they're doing on any given day, because the work of the CIA is highly confidential. A good portion of the people who work for the CIA are also classified information, which cannot be released to the public even after death. For all we know, there could be many branches of the CIA that are American death squads and have been torturing and killing people now for ages (actually, I've always thought that and Osama bin Laden did state in the beginning that he didn't like the actions of this agency). Americans would never know. So, how will we know if the torture techniques that Bush is pushing for will have ended? And why was Bush so upset on Friday during his Rose Garden press conference?
Why is Bush so adamant in getting the Congress to allow the CIA to torture when it's so secret anyways and we'd never know if they stopped, even if they follow through with not allowing it? I can't for the life of me understand why Bush is freaking out about this, except for, he doesn't like the word 'no'. Is this how we want our nation to be led? To be led by a man whose only stance in his presidency has been that he will do whatever he damn well pleases, will produce signing statements to keep his power, and who will freak out in front of the nation when he's told he can't allow one of his agencies to torture knowing full well they can still torture without America's knowledge? Wow!
Bush is scared. I think he knows that if he loses his power in November the shit is going to hit the fan against his criminal regime. I think he understands that Senate Rule 21 can be invoked by the democrats after November and they could use it to force the CIA to divulge what they've been doing all these years. The democrats will then understand that Bush was freaking out because he knows that he and the CIA have been breaking the law for years and they could face jail time for it. Wow. Can you imagine if Americans during the holidays this year realize that Bush's leadership reflects an absolute disregard of humanity? Oh boy.
We are definately living in scary times right now. This is definately not the America I remember and it nowhere near the country that our Forefathers so longed for. It's truly upsetting to me.

Ah if the Fucking moron who claims to be president while Cheney has his arm shoved up the fooles ass to create a backbone for the little wimp , oh too bad soo sad he can't get his way, SOOOOO he wants to take the CIA , run away and POUT. and if we get attacked then it is our fault for not allowing the gutless prick to wipe his ass with the US Constitution.

If he was a democrat..the impeachment proceedings would have already impeached him, the senate convicted him, and he would be on his way to GITMO...........OH yea..... right...... if we had a democratic President, there would be NO gitmo as we know it to be, but a competent plan to capture Osama, and the Al Quaeda network, and 2682 US soldiers would still be alive over 19910 soldiers would still be whole instead of wounded.(Because we would not have forgotten the war to get Osama to invade Iraq with lies and distorted intel). We still would have the good will of the vast majority of the world, Americans would be welcomed across the oceans(instead of being shunned and looked down upon for the IDIOT in Chief we now have).

Right on Clif!!!!!

I find it odd that most polls give Cheney a 19% approval rating, give the Congress an overall approval rating of 19%, but yet, Bush remains at 39%!!! Why is that? Since Bush considers himself the Unitary Executive and everyone below him (including the Congress) is under his direction, then he too should have a 19% approval rating!!

From this day forward, I will always believe that Bush's approval rating is 19% or less and there is nothing that will change my mind either!!!

Bush has failed our country and there is no way that almost 40% of our country is happy with that and wants to keep moving forward in that direction.

Spit.

Don't they drive you crazy?

Plus, Bush has said that we aren't fighting soldiers in Iraq, but terrorists. If that is so, the Geneva Convention doesn't apply so why does he want it redefined.

So that the International courts can't get at him for the crap he is doing because he knows it is illegal.

Bush is willing to stop the CIA from interrogating posible terrorist, that could mean harm to Americans, all because he can't get his way and have torture legalized.

Bush is showing he doesn't care about American citizens, unless they are also big oil executives.
