Iraqi Dead May Total 600,000, Study Says

That is the headline in the New York Times.....today.

It is mind boggling. It represents four or five Hiroshima type attacks. It is approaching the number of those killed in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge time period. And that is recognized as an atrocity. Juan Cole has a very GOOD discussion for why this Might be accurate, tragically accurate for those people caught in the cross fire of the Neo-cons and the insurgents.

The wing nuts will ATTACK this study, as inaccurate, and quote DOD figures even though the DOD ignores many sources of deaths and even went so far as to only count people killed by gunshot last month ignoring those killed in a mortar or suicide style attack.

The people who started this unconscionable fiasco, have to answer for the inhuman conditions they fostered. Why they NEVER planned for security which is the first priority if you want to prevent this king of anarchy on the loose. Anarchy which to every one except for the sycophants in power is a CIVIL WAR.

Read the New York Times story, and then read Juan Cole's blog. Then, please with all your humanity, please then try to explain to me HOW you can still support these incompetent but criminal fools.

So what does king jorge say about this?

First of all, Iraqi Muslims don't believe in embalming or open casket funerals days later. They believe that the body should be buried by sunset the day of death, in a plain wooden box. So there is no reason to expect them to take the body to the morgue. Although there are benefits to registering with the government for a death certificate, there are also disadvantages. Many families who have had someone killed believe that the government or the Americans were involved, and will have wanted to avoid drawing further attention to themselves by filling out state forms and giving their address.

Also Spiiderweb, whenever I hear the neocons spewing that Saddam Hussein killed hundreds of thousands and the proof is all the graves, I like to point out that there was a 10 year war between Iraq and Iran and just like you pointed out, the Iraqis bury their dead immediately and sometimes they do it where the person died.

George W. Bush on the other hand orchestrated an illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq which was no different than taking a baseball bat to a bee's nest! Bush is to blame for all of the carnage in Iraq right now. He can't admit that he's killed more people then Ted Bundy at this point!

Bush is a murderer. Case closed. Let's hope the dems take control in November to pin his ass to the wall!!!
